Big Band Coming To Saturday Afternoon, May 17th The Larry Busch Band will be coming to This band is a 15 piece band with the
members coming from all over the South-West area of Some of the exceptional musicians in
the group are Bill Schwantes, saxophone player; Monte Muller, trombone and
trumpet, who is the director of bands at Lancaster Middle School and a
freelance trombonist playing with many groups; Rob Shepherd, saxophone player
living in Lancaster where he is the High School band director; Marty Busch,
trombone, played his first New Year’s Eve gig at the age of 12 and now owns and
operates Busch Music; Josh Fuchs, trumpet, presently a student at U W –
Platteville; Kerry Long from Montfort plays in numerous bands including those
of Larry Busch; Mark Busch, drummer, lives in Mineral Point and has drummed for
40 years with the Busch Band; Luke Busch, saxophone, resides in Fitchburg and
performs with various groups around Wisconsin and in the Mid-West. Taking the mike for some wonderful
songs will be Larry Kovars and Cleo Ware.
Larry has been singing with the Larry Busch Band for over 25 years and
brings a truly authentic touch to the songs he sings. When Larry starts to vocalize, his incredibly
smooth voice will take you right to the middle of the Big Band Era with songs
like ‘Careless’, ‘I Cried for You’, and
‘Chattanooga Choo Choo’. Cheo Ware
will keep you spellbound with her bubbly and fun personality showing through as
she sings her torch songs, ‘All That
Jazz’, ‘I, Who Have Nothing’, and ‘Cabaret’. Big Band music will also be featured
on Sunday, May 18th, as the Beaver Dam High School Jazz Ensemble
takes the stage from The cost of a ticket is $20.00 in advance and
$25.00 at the door. That ticket allows
you to enjoy the music at the Community Center and the American Legion Club
